MIKOLAS, one of the most streamed artists in the Czech Republic, is embarking on a new musical chapter with the release of his latest single, “SAMBA.” This track marks the first offering from his eagerly awaited second studio album, titled “II.” In conjunction with this release, MIKOLAS has announced a return performance at the Lucerna Great Hall, which boasts a capacity of 2,500 seats and sold out in just over seven minutes.
Expressing his sentiments, MIKOLAS stated, “I am both humbled and excited. It’s a significant responsibility to my fans, and I know they are looking forward to an exceptional show. I can’t wait.”
Following the remarkable success of his debut album, “ONE,” which achieved triple platinum status and recently surpassed 120 million streams on Spotify, “SAMBA” provides fans with a glimpse into MIKOLAS’s evolving artistic persona—one that is darker and more intense.
To commemorate the release, MIKOLAS hosted an exclusive VIP launch party on April 24 in Prague, marking his first fan-oriented live event in several years. Fans gained complimentary access by registering through his official fan portal at www.mikolas.com.
Announced just a week prior, the event featured live performances of MIKOLAS’s greatest hits, the live debut of “SAMBA,” exclusive merchandise, complimentary welcome drinks for attendees, and a personal meet-and-greet opportunity for the first 100 guests.
In a surprising addition, MIKOLAS introduced his own magazine, “EMPIRE,” during the release week. Written in a personal diary format, the magazine invites fans into his inner circle, fostering a direct and unfiltered connection.
“I aimed to create a unique, no-filter relationship between myself and those who accompany me on this incredible journey. And I truly enjoy it,” he remarked.
The magazine offers an in-depth look at the creative process behind the album and the single “SAMBA.” MIKOLAS candidly discusses his challenges on the path back to Eurovision, revealing that both “SAMBA” and “DELILAH” were contenders for a return to the Eurovision stage. He elaborates on the meaning behind “SAMBA,” addresses fan questions regarding confidence and creativity, and shares insights about the realities of pursuing one’s dreams. He dedicates the inaugural issue to Parketa, his late tour manager, and Anna Slováčková, a friend and fellow artist, both of whom have recently passed away.
“EMPIRE” provides readers with a rare and intimate glimpse into MIKOLAS’s life and creative journey, and it is available through the fan portal on his website.
Additionally, the single carries a significant social message, as MIKOLAS dedicates “SAMBA” to single parents. Reflecting on a personal story of single parenthood within his family in “EMPIRE,” he shared, “It opened my eyes to the genuine struggles faced by single parents. This issue is not just a side story—it is pervasive and deserves recognition.”
His sophomore album, “II,” is anticipated to be released later this year.
