With nearly two decades in live entertainment, the Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design has contributed to major international events, record-setting productions, and award-nominated projects.
The stage is often the defining visual feature of a music festival, but bringing it to life requires an extensive process that takes place long before an audience arrives. Architectural planning, technical systems, lighting arrangements, and creative decisions must work in unison to establish an environment capable of supporting an entire performance. For nearly 20 years, Mark Rietveld has built his career across these disciplines, contributing to productions associated with some of the most established names in international live entertainment.
Rietveld serves as Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design, an international creative production company collaborating with festival organizers, promoters, artists, and entertainment brands. With expertise spanning stage architecture, creative direction, production design, and technical integration, the company develops environments that turn artistic concepts into tangible experiences. Rietveld plays a central role in this process, guiding creative ideas while considering the visual and practical requirements of complex live events.
His professional portfolio includes Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Creamfields Chile, Lost Lands Festival, So Track Boa, No Art Festival, Verknipt, and EDC Las Vegas, alongside major productions throughout Australia. Together, these projects span diverse entertainment formats and international markets, demonstrating the scope of his experience in an industry that demands both creative versatility and meticulous coordination.
Recognition Beyond the Festival Stage
360 Show Design’s portfolio includes projects associated with notable industry distinctions. The company contributed to a production at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in the Netherlands that secured the Guinness World Record for the largest laser show, featuring 1,100 lasers. This achievement involved the coordination of an exceptionally extensive technical installation within one of the country’s major entertainment venues.
In 2026, the company’s contribution to the Lost Lands Festival Grand Finale also earned a nomination for a Live Entertainment Production Award (LEPA). Both projects reflect 360 Show Design’s involvement in productions recognized for their technical complexity and creative ambition.
Rietveld’s creative approach is shaped by an understanding of how visual environments influence the atmosphere of live music. His work examines the relationship between architectural structures, lighting, technical effects, and audience engagement. Rather than approaching these elements independently, he develops concepts that bring them together as an integrated part of the performance.
Creative Direction and Collaborative Leadership
Productions of this magnitude depend on coordination across multiple creative and technical departments. At 360 Show Design, Rietveld works alongside Bart Straver, Head of Production, and Pieter Truijen, Head of Design.
Straver manages production planning, technical coordination, and the operational requirements involved in executing ambitious event concepts. Truijen directs the development of stage environments, translating creative objectives into designs that balance visual presentation with technical feasibility. Rietveld provides the overarching creative direction, connecting these responsibilities and maintaining a cohesive artistic vision throughout each project’s development.
Their combined experience extends across Europe, North America, South America, Central America, Australia, and the Middle East. Working within these varied markets requires the team to accommodate different venues, production specifications, and event requirements while preserving the creative identity of each project.

EDC Las Vegas and International Productions in 2026
Throughout 2026, 360 Show Design has contributed to an extensive schedule of international events, including Verknipt Ziggo Dome, Don’t Let Daddy Know Amsterdam, Verknipt Warehouse Special Easter, Kingsland Festival, Empire Music Festival in Guatemala, Verknipt Unrestricted, EDC Las Vegas, and Verknipt Festival Utrecht.
A standout project from this period was the redesign of the Basspod stage for EDC Las Vegas 2026. The assignment brought 360 Show Design’s creative and technical expertise to one of electronic music’s most recognizable festival environments, where stage architecture and visual presentation play an essential role in the overall experience.
The renewed Basspod design marks another significant addition to the company’s portfolio, incorporating architectural elements, lighting, visual concepts, and technical production. For Rietveld and his colleagues, the project offered an opportunity to introduce a fresh creative direction within an established international festival.
Beyond EDC Las Vegas, the company’s recent schedule demonstrates its continued involvement in productions across multiple countries and entertainment markets. Each project presents distinct artistic objectives and technical considerations, requiring a creative approach tailored to the setting.
The Vision Behind the Experience
Despite the international scale of his work, Rietveld’s perspective on successful stage design remains centered on the audience. He considers the connection between an initial creative vision and its eventual realization an essential part of the production process.
“Great show design is about creating moments people remember,” says Rietveld. “Every project starts with a vision, but it’s the collaboration between creative ideas and technical expertise that turns that vision into something audiences can truly experience.”
This philosophy has guided his contributions to festivals, touring productions, and major entertainment events throughout his career. It also reflects the collaborative approach at 360 Show Design, where artistic direction, design development, and technical implementation are closely connected.
With nearly two decades of experience in international live entertainment, Rietveld has established a portfolio defined by sustained involvement in prominent productions across multiple continents. From established festivals to record-setting and award-nominated projects, his work with 360 Show Design remains part of the evolving landscape of contemporary stage design and large-scale entertainment production.
