With Pure Trance X already marking a milestone moment, Solarstone reflected at the time that it represented “a transitional moment” for the series—a natural point where one chapter closes and another begins. With Pure Trance XI, that next chapter doesn’t just open—it redefines how the story is told.
A new philosophy: the “live compilation” experience
From its earliest days, Pure Trance has carried a clear ethos: carefully curated journeys built with the same narrative intent as landmark mix albums like Global Underground or Northern Exposure. Not just playlists—fully immersive listening experiences designed to replicate a night out, start to finish.
But with Pure Trance XI, that idea is pushed further than ever before.
Instead of assembling a studio-perfect reconstruction, Solarstone aimed to capture something closer to reality: a true, unfiltered DJ experience. The result is a compilation recorded in front of a live crowd at London’s legendary Fabric on a heaving February Saturday—where every blend, EQ move, filter sweep, and crowd reaction becomes part of the final record.

Two minds, one vision
For the first time in the series’ history, Solarstone brings back a former co-mixer: Orkidea, closing a conceptual circle that stretches all the way back to the origins of Pure Trance.
Their shared creative language is rooted in the golden era of trance compilation storytelling—where albums weren’t just collections of tracks, but gateways into discovery. Orkidea describes it best: tracks from compilations like Global Underground, Renaissance, and Northern Exposure often gained their identity through the mix itself. Solarstone echoes that sentiment, emphasizing how certain combinations create “one plus one equals three moments”—where layered tracks become something greater than their parts.
